Job Description

The Director, Engines provides leadership and direction to a team of technical specialists and support staff.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on all success metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the fleet engines as well as the budget;
• Review, approve, and maintain the Engine Management and Maintenance Program (EMP) with suppliers such as Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce;
• Review, approve, and maintain the General Electric Work Planning Guide to maintain the CFM56-5B engine maintenance program;
• Contribute to the development of departmental procedures and procedures in accordance with the MCM & MPM;
• Responsible for all modifications and standards related to engine configurations;
• Responsible for material revisions and technical specifications of engines during their workshop visits;
• Coordinate and monitor all major technical projects and specific requirements related to planning removals, as well as the introduction and return of engines to lessors;
• Prepare and explain engine maintenance budget variances;
• Chair engine meetings and ensure all necessary actions are in place to maintain and improve engine reliability in accordance with the fleet engine maintenance programs;
• With the assistance of the Procurement Department, negotiate and manage contracts related to engine repair and overhaul facilities, as well as short/medium and long-term engine lease contracts;
• Review all existing and upcoming engine-related contracts to ensure content compliance with regulations and adequate risk coverage;
• Perform all other responsibilities described for this position in the MPM.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering;
• 8 years of relevant experience in engine maintenance management;
• Member of the Order of Engineers desirable;
• Oral and written fluency in French and English*;
• Proficiency in Office 365 applications;
• Ability to travel for visits to engine maintenance workshops and various conferences.

*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will need to communicate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
