Job Description

The Engine Director provides leadership and direction to a team of technical specialists and support staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on all success metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for fleet engines as well as the budget;
  • Review, approve, and maintain the Engine Management and Maintenance Program (EMP) with suppliers such as Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce;
  • Review, approve, and maintain General Electric's Work Scope Planning Guide to maintain the CFM56-5B engine maintenance program;
  • Contribute to the development of departmental procedures and procedures in compliance with the MCM & MPM;
  • Responsible for all modifications and standards related to engine configurations;
  • Responsible for material reviews and technical estimates of engines during shop visits;
  • Coordinate and follow up on all major technical projects and specific requirements related to removal planning as well as the introduction and return of engines to lessors;
  • Prepare and explain engine maintenance budget variances;
  • Chair engine meetings and ensure all necessary actions are in place to maintain and improve engine reliability in compliance with fleet engine maintenance programs;
  • With the help of the Procurement Department, negotiate and manage contracts related to engine repair and overhaul facilities as well as short/medium and long-term engine lease contracts;
  • Review all existing and upcoming engine-related contracts to ensure content complies with regulations and risk coverage is adequate;
  • Perform all other responsibilities described for this position in the MPM.

Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering;
  • 8 years of relevant experience in engine maintenance management;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingenieurs is desirable;
  • Oral and written proficiency in French and English*;
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications;
  • Ability to travel to visit engine maintenance shops and various conferences.

*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
