Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the incumbent is responsible for overall global total rewards management, benefits, pension plan management, for both unionized and non-unionized personnel, as well as all regulatory disclosure processes related to compensation as a public company.

They play a strategic role in the development, updating, and governance of fair, competitive global compensation policies aligned with business objectives. They directly contribute to talent attraction, retention, and engagement by developing competitive compensation structures adapted to the strategic plan and organizational context.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain global compensation programs tailored to the organization's various groups, taking into account best practices and financial capacity.
  • Act as an advisor and strategic partner to internal stakeholders, notably managers, HR business partners, and the recruitment team.
  • Ensure the governance of compensation policies and their alignment with the expectations of the human resources committee.
  • Monitor market trends, identify internal gaps, and recommend proactive adjustments.
  • Lead pay equity processes (Quebec and Canada).
  • Recommend salary increase budgets and have them approved by the human resources committee.
  • Manage group insurance plans, and oversee the governance and renewal of these plans.
  • Ensure the governance of various pension plans and facilitate governance and performance review committees for these plans with non-unionized and unionized personnel.
  • Responsible for the employee share purchase program.
  • Develop, manage, and ensure governance of short- and long-term incentive plans for eligible personnel including senior management members.
  • Support labor relations teams during collective bargaining with compensation analyses and recommendations.
  • Supervise executive compensation disclosure in the annual circular.
  • Deploy a wellness program promoting global health, work-life balance, and employee engagement.
  • Act as a leader, positively influencing organizational culture through a human, inclusive, and strategic approach to compensation and fostering the development of their team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, industrial relations, actuarial science, or any other relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in a similar role, with recognized expertise in global total rewards.
  • Mandatory experience in publicly traded environments, with thorough knowledge of disclosure requirements.
  • Mastery of complex compensation programs: long-term incentive plans, pension plans, executive compensation, etc.
  • Experience in a unionized environment considered an asset.

  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written. *A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will need to communicate frequently in English, orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
