Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance, the Director – Financial Reporting and Optimization acts as a key strategic player within Air Transat's financial function.

A true agent of change and a mobilizing leader, this person drives the evolution and continuous improvement of financial processes to support the organization's growth and performance.

As a leading business partner, they collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams as well as financial and operational managers to transform financial data into high-value decision-making levers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the leadership, mobilization, and development of a team of financial analysts, fostering a collaborative, rigorous, and excellence-oriented environment.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of accounting activities and the maintenance of strong internal controls for Air Transat's airline costs and balance sheet.
  • Coordinate and review accounting provisions related to aircraft leases and aeronautical components, in accordance with IFRS 16.
  • Oversee the consolidation of the Company's financial results, for both statutory and management purposes, and ensure their reliability.
  • Lead the budget process, financial planning, and in-depth analysis of the sectors under their responsibility (maintenance, capital expenditures, IFRS 16).
  • Supervise the preparation and review of Air Transat's statutory financial statements, ensuring their accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure the continuous application of IFRS standards for complex situations, particularly related to maintenance, and lead the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives for the finance function.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with managers and act as a strategic partner and advisor.
  • Take the lead on special projects with financial scope and actively contribute to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) title – required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in personnel management in a financial context
  • Experience within a large company; experience in the aviation industry is a distinct asset
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and their practical application
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite tools
  • Recognized leadership and strong ability to influence various stakeholders
  • Proven experience in change management and organizational transformation
  • High ability to analyze complex situations and take a position quickly
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English *

*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will need to communicate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
