Air Canada is looking for a dynamic individual to fill a permanent full-time position for an Electrician - Facilities Maintenance at the Vancouver Airport.

  • The candidate is responsible for preventive maintenance and repair requests made through the Facilities work order system.
  • Install, maintain, and repair facility and industrial equipment, as well as related electrical and electronic controls.
  • Consult and interpret assembly drawings and electrical schematics as well as the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components to verify their operation.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electric motors, generators, industrial forklift batteries, and electrical control systems for hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
  • Manage the preventive maintenance program for motorized and non-motorized ground equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instruments and related devices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Industrial electrician who has completed the Red Seal interprovincial standards program
  • At least five years of work experience in the field
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment assessment
  • Proven talent for oral and written communication
  • Ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a highly demanding work environment
  • Team spirit
  • Availability to work days, but also weekends and holidays
  • Availability to travel and possession of a valid passport
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Employees occupying this safety-critical position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol screening test, and must not be under the influence of intoxicating substances
