As an Expert technique, ingénierie - Intégrateur d’installation de systèmes, you will act as a technical authority, guide design strategy, and lead technical alignment and competency development across the organization. Your activities will focus on the physical integration of aircraft systems other than electrical wiring, including equipment, ducts, pipes, tubes, hoses, supports, and related interfaces.

  • Design and installation integration
    • Develop and review 3D layouts, equipment placement, routing, supports, assemblies, and detail drawings of assigned systems, excluding electrical wiring.
    • Define physical interfaces, clearances, access, attachment concepts, and installation provisions for equipment, ducts, pipes, tubes, hoses, and related hardware.
    • Balance functional requirements with safety, maintainability, manufacturability, assembly, weight, cost, and aircraft zone constraints.
  • Multidisciplinary coordination
    • Coordinate installation definition with functional systems engineering, structures, loads and constraints, interiors, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, safety, manufacturing, quality, maintainability, and mass properties.
    • Manage spatial integration and resolve interferences, access constraints, installation sequence issues, and interface discrepancies.
    • Coordinate technical definition with partners, suppliers, and operations teams as needed.
  • Maturity, compliance, and support
    • Support design reviews as well as compliance, verification and validation, qualification, and installation certification activities.
    • Provide technical solutions to installation issues in production, at suppliers, during ground and flight testing, and in service.
    • Manage engineering changes, assess impacts, and maintain configuration and product data in the applicable PLM environment.
  • Role-specific contribution
    • Act as the discipline's technical authority for the most complex or high-impact integration issues.
    • Guide architecture and design strategy, resolve cross-functional technical risks, and provide authoritative recommendations to management.
    • Develop organizational capabilities through governance, standards, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and external technical alignment.

As a Professional, Engineering - Structures Design Integrator, you will independently execute defined engineering assignments and contribute to technical decisions within established practices. Your work will focus on aircraft structural design, from configuration and concept development through detailed definition, production support, certification support, and in-service changes.

  • Structural Design & Definition
    • Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies, installation drawings, and detail drawings for assigned airframe areas.
    • Define metallic and composite parts, joints, interfaces, fastener concepts, tolerances, and provisions in accordance with applicable design requirements.
    • Apply sound design practices for load paths, producibility, assembly, inspection, maintainability, weight, and cost.
  • Technical Integration & Collaboration
    • Coordinate structural definition with stress, materials and processes, systems installation, aerodynamics, interiors, manufacturing, quality, and other affected disciplines.
    • Resolve geometric and physical-interface conflicts and support technical trade studies.
    • Participate in design reviews and communicate design intent, assumptions, constraints, and open items.
  • Design Maturity, Compliance & Support
    • Support substantiation and certification activities by providing complete and traceable design definition and technical rationale.
    • Support production, supplier, and in-service investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective design action.
    • Manage design changes and maintain configuration and product-definition data in the applicable PLM environment.
  • Level-specific contribution
    • Own defined design assignments from initial definition through release, with support available for non-routine decisions.
    • Perform technical checks, investigate issues, and recommend solutions using established methods and standards.
  • Provide reliable status, identify risks early, and support less-experienced colleagues on familiar tasks

Education & experience

  • Bachelor degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline, as appropriate to the role. A technologist degree may be considered based on relevant experience.
  • Typically 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Technical knowledge

  • Aircraft structural configuration and detailed design
  • Metallic and composite design principles, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and GD&T
  • Engineering drawings, 3D definition, producibility, assembly, and inspection considerations
  • Aerospace materials, processes, design standards, certification fundamentals, and configuration control

Tools & methods

  • CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and MS Office; knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of PLM, product definition, engineering change, and configuration management processes appropriate to the level.

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Collaborative approach with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement, analytical problem-solving, organization, and accountability.

Languages

  • Fluent in English (mandatory).
  • French is an asset.
