What are your contributions to the team?

  • Reading plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing
  • Knowledge of rules for handling toxic products (WHMIS)
  • Use stratification, molding, and assembly techniques to create composite jigs & molds.
  • Use machines, equipment, or hand tools to cut, profile, trim, and adjust composite elements to form parts and assemblies;
  • Assemble composite materials on models to form parts and assemblies using bonding materials;
  • Use coating guns to apply resin mixtures to metal or wooden molds to form composite products;
  • Load and operate autoclaves/curing ovens to ensure the curing and bonding of composite parts and sub-assemblies;
  • Use finishing equipment to route, grind, or polish products to their final shape.
  • Operate press brakes, saws, and drills to process raw materials.
  • Using a CMM laser tracking inspection machine is an asset

How to thrive in this role?

  • DEC Mechanical Engineering
  • OR
  • DEP Industrial and Aerospace Composite Parts Manufacturing
  • OR
  • DEP Tooling + 3 years experience in composite parts manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge of tolerances and GD&T
  • Working knowledge of Laser Tracker and Polyworks system (an asset)
