About the project
We are looking for a qualified engineer for a 36-month mandate within our team in Montreal. The position requires an office presence 2 to 3 days per week (subject to change).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in user-centered design engineering activities related to the cockpit design and human-machine interfaces (HMI)
  • Deploy expertise in physical ergonomics during tests and analyses
  • Interact with pilots to develop and evaluate the general usability of the cockpit
  • Participate in the elicitation of interface requirements, their validation and verification
  • Participate in task analyses and human error analyses
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of user experience in the cockpit according to guidelines
  • Create and maintain documentation related to systems, interfaces, and design of the various projects concerned, whether for a new aircraft, a cockpit evolution, or studies on existing cockpits.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and industry Human Factors specialists

Profile:

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Industrial Design or equivalent, and a diploma in physical ergonomics or equivalent.
  • You have extensive experience in physical ergonomics (anthropometry, strength, vision, vibration and turbulence behavior, etc.)
  • You have demonstrated solid practical experience with 3D modeling and analysis tools (CATIA, NX, Jack, Rhinoceros, Blender, etc.).
  • You have in-depth knowledge or relevant experience in the aerospace field, including embedded systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical systems, flight controls, propulsion, etc.) or the regulatory environment and associated design standards (e.g., MIL STD, SAE ARP, etc.).
  • You are comfortable with computer tools, and capable of learning the use of new software quickly and independently.
  • You have knowledge or practical experience in manufacturing processes and materials

Soft skills

  • You demonstrate good technical writing skills as well as oral communication (spoken and written English is required; fluency in French would be an asset).
  • You are a team player, organized and motivated, capable of working without direct supervision.
  • You have the ability to process a large amount of information, as necessary to plan and implement a complex testing or experimentation campaign.
  • You are able to work occasionally under pressure and adjust to evolving priorities.
  • You demonstrate a spirit of initiative, efficiency, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • You cultivate good interpersonal relationships, show integrity and judgment
