The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for all aspects of sourcing strategy for the commodities under his / her leadership including make vs buy decisions, source selection, supplier designations (exit, grow, sustain, etc.) and long-term agreement negotiations. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be part of a team that develops and executes a "one company" (P&W, P&WC, Collins & Raytheon) sourcing strategy in consultation with his / her supply chain counterparts in the commodity considering delivery, cost and quality objectives.

The Candidate must demonstrate an advanced understanding of Pratt & Whitney's supply chain strategy and plays a key role in interfacing with the Supply Chain Procurement Execution groups as well as Raytheon internal and external customers. This person possesses the appropriate skills to develop and foster positive working relationships while maintaining customer and organizational priorities.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

What your day to day will look like

The candidate will be responsible to define and manage the overall strategy (cost, quality and delivery performance) of owned commodities and suppliers, mainly for castings products, including the identification and execution of long-term projects to achieve sustainable performance results.

  • Understand the relevant market landscape of the castings commodity as well as P&WC and P&W's internal production needs. Analyze value stream spend data and evaluate margin expansion and value creation. Use the strategic sourcing review board process to develop one company strategies, and use the Raytheon Playbook process to negotiate long-term agreements in collaboration with the contracts teams.
  • Execute a commodity strategy that limits exposure to risk and liability through strategic planning.
  • Understand and evaluate the impacts of both strategic and tactical decisions on the long-term strategy of the supply base.
  • Oversee and manage contract performance.
  • Develop strong partnerships with assigned suppliers and take proactive measures to work with other P&WC groups to manage/reduce the total cost.
  • Identify cost reduction and improvement projects and manage these projects.
  • Execute supplier relationship management strategy for a portfolio of suppliers assigned.
  • The candidate does not have direct employees to manage.

What do you need to be successful?

Must haves:

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Purchasing, Administration/Commerce, Mechanical Engineering, and/or similar field
  • 10 years or more of experience in a similar role
  • Strong strategic and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical data skills

Assets:

  • Fluency in English and French (spoken and written)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong functional, business and strategic skills
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment; it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
