Pratt & Whitney continues to invest in new technologies and engine designs for future aerospace installations. With these new strategic programs, we are writing the next chapter of engine offerings across multiple markets. This leads to the need for customer service leadership for the successful entry into service of these new products.
Within the Engine Programs Entry-Into-Service team, we have created strategic positions to manage the preparation activities for the entry-into-service of our new products. In this role, you will ensure that our customers' expectations are met, or even surpassed, and that all our Customer Service departments are ready to support the engines delivered and put into service. In this role, you will pay particular attention to the technical, operational and commercial challenges of our new products, and you will put in place contingency plans to ensure a seamless service experience for our customers.
This position will also play a key role in how our customers discover, interact with and use our next-generation engines. Within the EIS Center of Excellence, the successful candidate will contribute in particular to strengthening our customer training programs, optimizing the clarity and user-friendliness of technical publications, and integrating human factors principles to anticipate how pilots, maintenance personnel and support teams will interact with these new technologies. This role offers the opportunity to move between different disciplines according to program needs, while helping Pratt & Whitney Canada offer every customer an intuitive, safe and smooth operational experience.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced service engineer with project management experience to lead the critical preparation activities for the entry-into-service of our new engines. Job description
You will contribute to the entry into service of multiple new strategic engine programs, working autonomously directly with multiple departments in Customer Service, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, as well as with several international teams to deliver a world-class experience to our customers. This will require a strong ability to lead by influence, find solutions and build consensus among multiple stakeholders, while putting the customer experience front and center.
What will your daily routine look like?
- Coordinate entry-into-service activities with program teams, the various disciplines of customer service, such as: service centers, mobile repair teams, spare parts distribution centers, rental engines, tooling, commercial services, warranty programs, technical publications, digital technologies, engine diagnostic services, product reliability teams.
- Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Operations and Business Development departments to define, track and influence the requirements and deliverables of new engine programs.
- Collaborate with partners and service providers.
- Participate in innovative activities to elevate the level of excellence of our products, services and the customer experience.
- Use CORE methods to optimize our processes and introduce best practices into our new engine programs
- Maximize the use of digital technologies including AI to provide our customers with personalized and proactive services
- Perform simulations to measure the effectiveness of support and service processes.
- Prepare business plans and manage budgets.
- Prepare reports and progress presentations for senior management
- Maintain effective communications with all levels of management, with members of multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to preparation plans by highlighting user experience gaps and supporting cross-functional teams in developing solutions to reduce friction points during deployment.
- Support scenario-based evaluations, simulations and real-world use case analysis to uncover subtle issues prior to field deployment.
- Bring a customer-centric perspective to technical, operational and training discussions, helping translate design intent into clear and actionable guidance for users.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Field of study: aeronautics, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering
- Strong project management skills is a key competency for this role
- Good commercial and technical judgment
- Good technical product knowledge (engines)
- Expertise in aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul is an asset
- Expertise working directly with customers is an asset
- Curiosity and strong customer orientation (empathy), with the ability to anticipate the impact of design choices on operators and maintenance activities.
- Experience or a keen interest in training development, technical publications or human factors issues is an asset.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical differences into clear and actionable information for the customer.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good computer knowledge (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
This position takes place in a French-speaking work environment, however it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
