The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for an A220 Program Portfolio Manager and Safety Management System (SMS) Officer to join our program management team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).
You will be part of the A220 program management team, and your role will be to optimize and streamline value creation for the program, in line with the company's major strategic objectives. Manage the operational plan (OP) of the program's non-recurring costs, optimize and arbitrate projects with the highest added value within the A220 program organization by leveraging synergies and simplifying processes. Define, implement, and drive an organizational model to optimize the program budget with respect to company objectives and drive program performance measurement.
The team's organization is established to promote cross-functional collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as Safety Management System (SMS) Officer will be to be responsible for the resolution and reduction of safety-related risks within the program's scope.

Your challenges:
As Program Portfolio Manager:
- Define and implement the portfolio structure and operate the model across all internal teams. Set up a company-wide organizational model, including roles and responsibilities, processes, methods and tools, and governance.
- Define the short- and long-term strategy of the A220 portfolio in alignment with company objectives. Translate the implementation of A220 strategic priorities and ensure the allocation of adequate budget and resources to the right projects to support the company's ambition. Drive portfolio governance at all levels of the company and oversee a team of 7 portfolio leaders.
- Drive the preparation of the operational plan for the program organization, setting priorities in accordance with the company's strategic objectives, respecting financial targets as well as constraints related to complex projects and resources.
- Manage the governance of non-recurring costs of the program, in close collaboration with finance, program management, and portfolio leaders, including establishing the cost control process and managing quarterly financial exercises.
- Develop and deploy a value management system: Conduct project value evaluations to identify value drivers and project performance measures.
- Ensure portfolio deployment is compatible with the overall Airbus Commercial strategy.
As Program SMS Officer:
- Safety Management System (SMS) fully deployed and optimized across the program organization: lead the program SMS representative team.
- Ensure the safety culture within the program reaches the required SMS maturity level: by delegation of the A220 program director and the A220 flight safety director, ensure that safety is always managed as a top priority for the program. Ensure personnel awareness and commitment to safety.
- Continuously improve product safety and ensure follow-up of safety topics until closure: lead safety risk assessments and successfully carry out risk reduction projects in collaboration with all concerned company functions.
- Represent the program within the overall Airbus Canada safety management system and organization: ensure program support for all subjects and projects requiring its involvement.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent diploma, ideally complemented by an MBA
- 10 years of experience in development activities and project management
- Experience in presentation and communication at the corporate level (stakeholder engagement and presentations to executive teams)
- Experience in large-scale transformation and the deployment of new solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Guide and mentor to teams worked with, possessing very strong interpersonal qualities
- Ability to collaborate with a diversity of client teams to solve major problems
- Knowledge of aerospace and defense industry processes, particularly in product development and program management, would be a plus
- Knowledge of existing systems, processes, organization, and environment of Airbus Canada (A220) or Airbus Commercial would be a plus
