Reporting to the Senior Manager, Subcontracts at Lockheed Martin Canada Inc., the Program Manager - Subcontracts is responsible for managing assigned subcontract contracts and leading the teams that manage those contracts.
- Ensure the performance of programs for all assigned subcontractors
- Establish controls and measures for all assigned subcontracts
- Carry out and support subcontract risk mitigation efforts
- Ensure subcontractors meet or exceed industrial and technological benefits and the Canadian Value Proposition objectives for program procurements
- Act as Director, Cost Accounting, for reporting on subcontracts or material, and ensure source selection and program management leadership teams are informed of progress and corrective action plans
- Ensure all subcontractors are trustworthy
- Implement a supply chain strategy that meets or exceeds program or customer expectations
- Implement risk mitigation tools to reduce or eliminate program risks for suppliers or prime subcontractors using tools such as the risk-based assessment tool, technical kickoff events, and other Lean Six Sigma tools or techniques
- Implement an organizational concept for the program execution phase (post-award). Work in a matrix assignment to ensure functional and program leads are informed of progress
- Perform other duties as directed in support of activities
- Work location may be one of Lockheed Martin's sites: Ottawa, Montreal, or Halifax
What you bring to the role
- A degree in engineering, science or business administration from a recognized university, or a combination of education and experience, with professional experience and specialized training matching the duties described
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering, project management, contract administration or subcontracts management, or relevant experience in complex military or similar programs
- Strong and demonstrable procurement/acquisition skills

Language requirements (Quebec)
Knowledge of the English language is required for this role so the candidate can perform all duties. The position requires daily communication with a virtual team outside Quebec. The candidate will also communicate with different members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside Canada. For engineering roles, the candidate must also be able to read or edit technical documents from our primary customers and write technical documents for those same customers.
