Reporting directly to the Director – BPM and Digital Transformation, the Associate Director – Global Workforce Planning; DHM & Training plays a critical role in ensuring Global Operations has the right workforce capacity, capabilities, and knowledge to execute today and sustain performance over the long term.
This role is accountable for aligning workforce planning, capability development, training, and knowledge management with business objectives. By structuring and safeguarding critical operational knowledge, identifying and closing skill gaps, and mitigating dependency on key experts, the role directly supports operational resilience, execution excellence, and sustainable growth.
Success in this role requires strong strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence decision-making at senior levels across a global organization.
This role is a critical enabler of Global Operations performance and resilience. By integrating workforce planning, capability development, training, and knowledge management, the Associate Director ensures the organization can scale, adapt, and perform sustainably in a complex and evolving operational environment.
This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
What will your day-to-day look like?
Strategic Leadership & Workforce Planning
- Partner with Management and Senior Leadership Teams to define and deploy global workforce and capability strategies aligned with operational priorities and growth plans.
- Lead the development and execution of Global Operations-level workforce planning, including capability forecasting, succession considerations, and long-term talent sustainability.
- Define and oversee the Discipline Health Management Strategy for Global Operations, including governance, metrics, and improvement roadmaps.
- Establish clear Roles & Responsibilities frameworks to ensure alignment between organizational needs, accountability, and required capabilities.
Capability, Knowledge & Discipline Health Management
- Establish and sustain a structured Knowledge and Capability Management framework across Global Operations.
- Ensure the effective capture and balance of tacit knowledge (expert know-how, experiential learning) and explicit knowledge (documented processes, standards, standard work, and best practices).
- Drive the standardization and institutionalization of critical operational knowledge to ensure consistency, repeatability, and long-term sustainability.
- Identify and mitigate single points of failure related to key experts or critical roles through cross-training, knowledge capture, succession planning, and redundancy strategies.
- Enable intergenerational knowledge transfer to support workforce renewal, retirements, ramp-up, and capacity growth.
- Ensure strong alignment between Discipline Health assessments, training programs, and knowledge repositories, maintaining coherence, relevance, and business impact.
Training Strategy, Development & Delivery
- Assess training and capability development needs using Discipline Health data, surveys, interviews, and business consultations.
- Design, develop, and deploy global training programs to close identified skill gaps and support operational priorities.
- Plan and lead discipline workshops with subject-matter experts focused on skills gap analysis, risk assessment, and capability development planning.
- Oversee the delivery of training programs across in-person, virtual, and blended learning environments.
- Define and monitor training effectiveness metrics and continuously improve learning solutions based on outcomes.
Team & Resource Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of trainers, instructional designers, and capability leads.
- Provide functional oversight to globally distributed Training Coordinators to ensure effective planning, coordination, and execution of learning events.
- Develop and manage training and capability development budgets, ensuring alignment with priorities and value delivery.
Compliance, Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with applicable training standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to workforce, capability, training, and knowledge initiatives.
- Stay current with industry trends, learning technologies, and best practices in workforce and knowledge management.
- Organize and lead global workshops, seminars, and forums that support operational transformation and shape the future of Global Operations.
What do you need to be successful?
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in workforce planning, capability development, training, or operational transformation, preferably in a Global Operations environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading global teams and influencing senior leadership.

- Strong strategic, analytical, and systems-thinking capabilities.
- Deep understanding of learning methodologies, adult learning principles, and knowledge management practices.
- Proven ability to structure, standardize, and sustain operational knowledge at scale.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and change-management capabilities.
- Experience with continuous improvement tools and digital learning platforms is an asset.
