The incumbent responds to customers’ day-to-day needs, administers existing contracts, and manages the various phases of new projects and contracts. This individual oversees the progress of quotations and works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that production deliverables align with customer requirements.

Acting as the primary point of contact, the Program Manager serves as the liaison between Avior and its many customers, including Boeing, Bell, Bombardier, Spirit, and Safran. This position is ideal for a rigorous and organized professional with strong business acumen who can mobilize teams and manage multiple priorities in a complex manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer existing contracts
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of customer orders
  • Communicate regularly with customers to develop lasting professional relationships tailored to their needs
  • Supervise and support the Program Coordinator in carrying out their responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy of customer orders entered into Avior’s integrated management system and communicate new requirements to the Production teams
  • Coordinate raw material requirements with the Purchasing department
  • Ensure alignment between subcontracted activities and internal production
  • Manage the launch of complex new projects, including:
    • Developing the master project plan
    • Organizing the project kickoff and conducting weekly follow-ups with the customer
    • Building the project team
    • Coordinating project phases and available resources
    • Establishing the budget and defining tooling and subcontracting requirements
    • Coordinating the purchase of required raw materials
    • Overseeing the manufacturing of initial parts through the delivery of the first article
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of assigned programs, including delivery performance, costs, profitability, gains and losses, and the tracking of parts placed on hold, rejected, or returned by customers
  • Manage order allocations and priorities based on delivery schedules and production-line capacity
  • Organize and lead meetings related to assigned programs
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, including project kickoffs and program reviews
  • Address customer complaints when required
  • Perform all other related duties

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Experience in a technically complex manufacturing environment; aerospace industry experience is considered a strong asset
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to planning, file management, and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to analyze complex contractual clauses and regulatory requirements
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and change management
  • Ability to identify urgent situations and quickly implement the necessary measures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting professional relationships
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, autonomy, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Leadership, versatility, drive, and a collaborative mindset
  • Professional proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written, to communicate regularly with customers located outside Quebec and process contractual documentation in English
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Technical knowledge and a project management certification, such as PMP or equivalent, are considered assets
