The Defense Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic projects related to the defense and aerospace sectors. They ensure compliance with technical, budgetary, and operational requirements while ensuring adherence to safety standards and government regulations. In collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and industrial partners, they play a key role in delivering complex projects of high strategic value, on schedule and within performance objectives.
Role and responsibilities
- Accurately identify necessary data in our multi-source environments;
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of projects related to the defense and aerospace sectors.
- Ensure compliance with deadlines, budgets, technical requirements, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact between clients, suppliers, internal teams, and government partners.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure continuity of operations.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, quality, procurement, and production.
- Ensure project compliance with existing regulations, safety standards, and contractual requirements of the defense sector.
- Prepare and present progress reports, performance indicators, and budget follow-ups to management and clients.
- Participate in strategic meetings with clients and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and operations.
- Support resource planning activities and priority allocation according to operational needs.
- Monitor deliverables and ensure project delivery within agreed deadlines.
Desired profile
- You hold a university degree - a bachelor's in Project Management, engineering, or equivalent;
- You have between 5 and 7 years of experience in project management or program management;
- You have an innovative spirit and the technical skills necessary to solve complex problems;
- You possess strong leadership, problem-solving, flexibility, and project management skills;
- You are results-oriented, enthusiastic, and have a strong work ethic;
- You demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- You possess strong communication skills and know how to adapt your message to your audience, while fostering harmonious and cohesive teamwork;
- You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project;
- Bilingualism (French - English) written and spoken is mandatory for communication in the client site's multilingual environment and for technical documentation.
