We are looking for a Project Manager within our Satellite Systems team at our Montreal office.

Responsibility:
- Reviews requests from line management, implements and plans the resources needed to manage the program in its entirety. This may require negotiations with line managers or other programs for conflicting resource needs, which must always be done with the overall interests of the company in mind.
- Negotiates, discusses, and reaches an agreement with the client regarding the key requirements and objectives of the program, as well as the funding, resources, and methods required. In many cases, these will be contradictory, and the program manager must maintain a diplomatic and persuasive approach to maintain a balance between what can be achieved for the budget and planned schedule, while preserving the interests of the company.
- Prepares detailed schedules to track program progress on a daily basis, performs frequent and regular assessments of costs to date and estimates to complete, and develops workaround plans as needed to achieve cost and schedule objectives.
- Identifies and manages program risks and opportunities.
- Maintains hands-on program control through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews and audits, recovery plan meetings, staff meetings, program meetings, etc. Provides technical and administrative advice, guidance, and decision-making to the program team.
- Maintains program visibility at the client level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
- Maintains program visibility with senior management through monthly program reviews and briefings, as needed, on topics of importance to the company.
- Establishes a framework of competent subcontractors and suppliers in collaboration with the supply chain that will ensure the satisfaction of procurement requirements throughout the life of the program.
Minimum required qualifications:
- Three years of experience in program/project management or project engineering in a related technical field
- Mechanical or electrical engineering or similar degree, bachelor's degree or higher.
- Experience in negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, finance, and U.S. ITAR regulations.
- Interpersonal qualities and leadership skills.
- Team spirit.
- Proactive, dynamic, resourceful, and autonomous person.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of the company and with external clients.
- Must be flexible and open to change
- Ability to communicate in French and English.
Special considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold a reliability status security clearance and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
