The incumbent collaborates with local facility maintenance personnel, operations stakeholders, strategic procurement, landlords, FBO operators, consultants, and contractors to ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, reliable, and able to support business activities and flight operations.
What You Will Do
- Ensure safety and compliance by ensuring all facility-related activities comply with company policies and applicable health and safety, environmental, security, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for company-owned facilities, building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Manage corrective maintenance activities by identifying, prioritizing, planning, tracking, and documenting repairs to minimize operational disruptions and protect company assets.
- Monitor the condition of facilities and assets and develop maintenance, renewal, and replacement plans for key building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate facility maintenance services by providing functional guidance to local maintenance personnel and overseeing the service ticket system, work orders, response times, recurring issues, and service performance.
- Lead major capital and leasehold improvement projects in company-owned and third-party leased facilities, from needs definition and planning through execution, commissioning, deficiency correction, and project closeout.
- Collaborate with leadership, operations stakeholders, and strategic procurement to define project requirements, statements of work, tender documents, bid evaluation criteria, budgets, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
- Review project proposals and technical submissions, including bids, plans, specifications, and methods of work, to ensure technical relevance, constructability, operational compatibility, and compliance with approved requirements.
- Manage needs related to leased facilities and FBO locations, coordinating work with landlords, FBO operators, airport authorities, internal stakeholders, and contractors to respect approvals, access requirements, operational constraints, and lease obligations.
- Develop and manage the facility maintenance and improvement budget, representing approximately $3M annually, ensuring tracking of expenses, commitments, invoices, forecasts, and change requests, and evaluating solutions based on life-cycle cost, risk, operational impact, and value.
- Foster facility planning and continuous improvement by establishing consistent standards, procedures, service expectations, and key performance indicators (KPIs); maintaining asset, project, contractor, and warranty documentation; producing reports on performance, risk, and future capital needs; and providing facilities management expertise to support operational excellence, sustainability, business continuity, and employee and customer experience.
What You Will Bring
- Post-secondary diploma or university degree in facilities management, engineering technology, construction management, building systems, project management or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Seven years of progressive experience in multi-site facility maintenance, building systems, contractor management, and execution of capital or leasehold improvement projects.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, corrective work management and work order or service ticket systems, statement of requirements (SOR) development, technical bid analysis, building code application, audits, and contractor safety.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices.
- Experience in budgetary management and sound financial management of a large facilities portfolio.
- Strong skills in project management, organization, communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving.
- French-English bilingualism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and working knowledge of project management, facilities management software and tools, and other relevant business tools.
