Air Canada, recognized among Canada's most diversity-friendly employers and among Montreal's Best Employers, is looking for a Senior Manager - Strategic Sourcing - IT, Data and Digital Solutions for its Montreal head office.

Strategic Sourcing includes several category management teams and a Centre of Excellence team. The successful candidate will play a key role as a Product Category Manager for Information Technology (IT) initiatives. Given the cross-functional nature of IT procurement at Air Canada, this person will have the opportunity to interact with key stakeholders across many sectors of the Company.

The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to major procurement projects at Air Canada, and will play a key role in the development and management of best practices related to procurement and resource management. The successful candidate will draw on their passion for leadership and collaboration to achieve the best value for the Company, promote the development of team members and peers, and build mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.

Qualifications

  • In addition to holding a university degree in a relevant field of study (business, law, information technology, engineering), the successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, negotiation and project management skills, as well as the ability to multitask, work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. They must also have experience in supervising several direct reports and building high-performance teams. A strong entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine willingness to learn are also essential. An MBA or professional designation is desirable.
  • Due to the confidential nature of the work, a strong sense of professionalism and discretion is required. Flexibility regarding work schedule and occasional mobility may be necessary.
    Proven punctuality and reliability to promote the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.

Conditions of Employment:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any necessary work permits, visas or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided prior to the start date.
