Reporting to the Associate Director, Logistics Operations Optimization, you will be responsible for leading large-scale strategic projects focused on improving the operational efficiency of a complex, global, just-in-time supply chain.
Project areas include:
- Logistics infrastructure optimization
- Distribution logistics (internal and external)
- Customs logistics
- Warehousing and inventory control
- Packaging engineering for materials
As the Senior Manager, Strategic Projects & Continuous Improvement - Logistics, you will lead the organization's strategic initiatives to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of logistics operations across the company's network. You will be responsible for identifying, planning, implementing, and monitoring multiple cross-functional projects, while managing financial, technical, and organizational risks.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for planning and executing projects or project workstreams, maintaining packaging instructions, managing annual project budgets, and reporting project expenditures and progress to senior leadership.
In addition, you will play a key role in fostering and strengthening the organization's culture of operational excellence and high performance, driving business results through Pratt & Whitney Canada's CORE Continuous Improvement Program (the company's Lean/Six Sigma framework).
The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
Strategic Alignment and Planning
- Lead the definition, development, and deployment of strategic plans for the entire logistics sector alongside stakeholders.
- Identify business objectives as well as potential transformations for internal and external clients to actively integrate them into strategic discussions.
- Monitor industry best practices to translate the organization's broad directions into concrete, sustainable action plans.
- Evaluate the long-term impact of logistics transformations across the company's entire global network.
Daily Change Management
- Drive and embody day-to-day change management with teams facing logistics, technological, and operational transformations.
- Support various stakeholders in adopting new strategic directions and ensure continuous alignment on the ground.
- Anticipate resistance and implement tailored communication strategies to ensure the sustainability and success of deployed processes.
Definition, Selection, and Prioritization of Projects with Stakeholders
- Collection of requirements and technical data.
- Impact and profitability analyses.
- Drafting of project charters.
- Securing funding.
Coordination of Project Execution
- Participate in defining deliverables for each project (schedule, risk, communication, etc.) in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ensure the implementation of action plans and the coordination of tasks for various contributors (internal and external).
- Assume the execution of certain action plan tasks as an individual contributor.
- Ensure cost optimization and waste reduction to achieve objectives within defined time and budget conditions.
- Lead various project committees and communicate project progress metrics.
What do you need to be successful?
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or any other relevant degree related to the job requirements.
- Experience: 10 years of experience in industrial logistics project management with tangible deliverables.
- 5 years of experience in team management.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and a demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and execute concrete plans that translate a global vision into operational results.
- Dynamic Profile: The candidate has strong abilities to challenge the status quo, implement new processes, and engage teams in change.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communicator; the candidate must be able to influence their team, clients, and the management team.
- Leadership: Demonstrates strong leadership and a customer-centric focus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Language Requirements: Good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken, is required for this position considering the operational needs and international interactions.
- Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and adjust priorities based on client needs.
- Technical Toolkit: Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SAP/ERP software.
This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, but it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
