The material management lead is responsible for establishing, monitoring and controlling strategies, policies and guidelines for materials management by product and/or program to improve all relevant key performance indicators. He identifies, supports, manages and implements (if necessary) process improvement opportunities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to improve inventory flow and accuracy. He organizes and manages knowledge transfer on best practices in material flow to supply chain management professionals and others.
In order to focus efforts on inventory management, the team is divided into two workstreams: "Inventory Planning & Governance" and "Inventory Performance & Control". Depending on the state of inventory flow, the first team (IP&G) will develop the guidelines and parameters necessary for adequate supply, while the second team (IP&C) will focus on the actions required for post-delivery activities to maintain appropriate stock levels.

What your daily work will look like:
- Support the development, monitoring and execution of the inventory action plan in collaboration with inventory management professionals and any other stakeholders.
- Analyze, optimize, execute and control value chain part planning parameters.
- Develop tools to support improvement projects within the team and with other entities.
What you need to succeed:
The essentials:
- Be eligible to work in Canada.
- Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
- Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired, if applicable.
- Pursuing studies in industrial engineering, software engineering, computer engineering.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Excel macros is essential.
Assets:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Project and change management skills.
- Analytical mind and capable of working at both conceptual and detail levels.
- Working experience with Microsoft Power BI is an asset.
This position takes place in a French-speaking workplace, nevertheless it requires a functional knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with international clients, suppliers or colleagues.
