In the Operability Group, the analysts will be in charge of various aspects of engine operability such as starting, acceleration and deceleration (handling), transient simulation, aircraft interfaces, as well as operability specifications for electronic and hydromechanics control systems. Our responsibilities span from pre-detail design to field support.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

• Contribute to engine sub-system definition like the controls system.
• Generate transient simulation corresponding to aircraft maneuvers.
• Establish test procedures to be performed on engine as well as supporting the tests themselves.
• Analyze the test results and compare to the simulation results and provide recommendations as applicable.
• Authors appropriate engine certification reports; Revise and coordinate relevant sections of various documents (Engineering Instructions, Installation Manual, Maintenance Manual, etc)
• Ensure that analyses and results are documented in a traceable manner.
• Contribute to setting up and using best working practices; systematically use CORE tools and principles and contribute to improving methods, tools and processes of the operability discipline.

What do you need to succeed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience is an asset.
• The candidate must have good communication skills (written and oral). English is essential, bilingualism (French) is an asset.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel and to work with requirements/priorities that evolve/change frequently.
• Ability to operate effectively in a team (IPT) and potentially manage teams.
• Experience in operability, compressor aerodynamics, performance, controls, development is an asset.
• Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, MS Excel (including VBA macros), EnoviaV6/PLM is an asset.
• Overtime and evening or weekend test support may be required occasionally.
• This position is in a French-speaking work environment, however it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with international clients, suppliers, or colleagues.
