Main Responsibilities
- Define and execute the design, development, qualification, and certification of airframe structures and system installations for major program improvements;
- Contribute to major engineering development projects, respecting defined time, budget, and quality standards;
- Lead technical definition and trade-off studies for structural and systems solutions to achieve ambitious performance targets;
- Define and execute cutting-edge technical solutions to resolve development issues;
- Participate in technical reviews with systems suppliers and certification authorities to meet new aircraft design requirements and objectives;
- Liaise with other functions and disciplines of the commercial aircraft program to provide and collect necessary data for the advancement of initial design, development, and certification efforts;
- Collaborate with other departments such as production, customer support, program office, purchasing, and product planning.
Profile Sought
- Education: Completed training (university level or technologist) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant and progressive experience in aerospace design, with a specialization in complex airframe structures and systems integration in a development program environment.
- Fundamental Design Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures and their interfaces with integrated systems, covering:
- Detailed design (sheet metal, machined parts, piping, component assembly);
- Design principles;
- Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Maintainability;
- Mechanical drawing procedures and standards.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures and their interfaces with integrated systems, covering:
- Digital Competency:
- Expert-level proficiency in CATIA V5 and Product Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., ENOVIA).
- Knowledge of composites is considered a major asset;
- Project Leadership:
- Autonomy and solid understanding of project management principles and key factors.
- Stakeholder Integration:
- Proven ability to effectively coordinate and integrate design activities with various internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, production, etc.).
- Autonomy and Commitment:
- A strong sense of commitment, willingness to accept responsibilities, and the ability to act independently and collaborate effectively with partners and suppliers.
- Mindset:
- Curious, highly energetic, and strongly oriented towards continuous improvement and process digitization.
Other Skills:
- Communication:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential to achieving desired results in a multidisciplinary and high-pressure work environment.
- Language:
- Knowledge of French and English (written and spoken) is considered a major asset for collaboration within this company.
