About the position

Systems Integration and Analysis Engineer – Junior Software Tester

The successful candidate will contribute to our key projects as a member of the vector product integration and testing team:

  • Will support functional verification testing of combat systems software
  • Will support integration verification testing of combat systems software subsystem
  • Will support regression testing of combat systems software.
This work requires the candidate to perform manual and automated testing in an Agile development environment. To do this, the candidate must draw on both skills and experience, including computer programming, problem-solving, effective communication, and analysis. You will work in a Linux environment and use several programming languages, including Python, BASH, Java, and C++. Knowledge of combat management system software and mission systems is considered an asset.
As a member of an Agile team, your main tasks will include:
  • Develop, execute, and maintain functional tests to verify user stories and software requirements
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests as part of continuous regression testing
  • Document test results in the Agile project management system and test management system
  • Identify, evaluate, document, and retest defects, to contribute to overall quality improvement.

What you bring to the position

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in computer science or a related engineering discipline
  • 0 to 2 years of professional experience
  • Be willing to work according to the team's schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to solve difficult problems within a team
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative or autonomy
  • Be able to obtain a "Secret" level North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) security clearance.

Additional skills desired for the position

  • Good knowledge of software development and testing
  • Good knowledge of test automation
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Good knowledge of Linux
  • Good knowledge of BASH and Python
  • Good knowledge of Java and C++
  • Good knowledge of Subversion or Git
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Requirements Management System (DOORS MD) is considered an asset
  • Experience with networks and networked tools is considered an hint
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology is considered an asset
  • A valid "Secret" level NATO security clearance is considered an asset
  • A Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)/Certified Tester Foundation Level Agile Tester (CTFL-AT) certification from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) is considered an asset.
