The Support to Operations (STO) Design Engineering group is responsible for the re-design and analysis of various compressor, combustion, transmission and turbine mechanical components. Our responsibilities extend across Engineering, Operations and Customer Service: from detail re-design, through validation & verification.
What will your day-to-day look like?
You will be part of a team of specialists in the design of mechanical systems for turbomachines (turboprop, turboshaft, and turbofan) and you will:
- Solve mechanical design problems on production and field engines.
- Re-design mechanical components to facilitate manufacturing.
- Solve producibility challenges on turbomachinery components.
- Perform thorough engineering evaluations of non-conforming material.
- Support outsourcing activities by defining and executing substantiation plans for components manufactured by new suppliers.
- Initiate design modifications for cost reductions.
- Lead multidisciplinary integrated product teams (IPT).
- Document IPT activities in design job projects.
This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.
What do you need to be successful?
- Functional level of English.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design.
- General knowledge of engineering disciplines (aerodynamics, heat transfer, structures, dynamics).
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods; CATIA V5 is an asset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
- Membership in OIQ or PEO is an asset.
