We are looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer willing to work in this changing, dynamic environment. If you are a self-starter, flexible, fast learner, able to work in a non-structured environment, interested in technical and project leadership, and able to manage multiple priorities, this opportunity is for you. This is a full-time, on-site position in Longueuil.
Function Description
Software engineering development or software quality assurance performing technical (process and product) audits, reviews of plans and standards, and establishing software quality requirements. Familiarity with aerospace software development standards and methodologies. Strong background and hands-on experience in software/hardware development, testing, or quality assurance. Experience in AS9100, ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254, CMMI, MIL/DoD or NASA software standards is a definite asset. Leadership capability is an asset as this position will require guiding others technically and managing projects.

- Has in-depth knowledge of the discipline and role
- Ability to provide technical guidance to other team members, and strong organizational and project management skills
- Knowledge of the overall Quality function including the Quality Management System (QMS), supporting updates to Software Quality Requirements and providing flowdown to other departments
What your day to day will look like
- Establish quality requirements for software and airborne electronic hardware (AEH), including AEH used to support engine controls
- Conduct quality audits of software and AEH, internally and at suppliers
- Communicate software/AEH quality requirements in compliance with Transport Canada and customer demands
- Support engine programs for review of Quality and Software Development plans and compliance audits
- Prepare audit checklists, audit reports, presentations, generate and follow up corrective action reports
- Develop software Quality Requirements based on AS9100 and regulatory requirements for both Flight Critical and Manufacturing software
- Provide leadership, training and technical guidance to junior team members
- Provide ongoing process improvement by updating standard work and checklists where applicable and seeking lean methods, including familiarization with latest tools and technology
- Present audit results to Management and certification authority at milestone reviews
What you need to be successful
- Bachelor or Technical Degree in Engineering / Aerospace / Control Systems / Software Engineering or Quality with at least 10 years experience
- Field of study: Quality Assurance, Engineering, Aerospace, Software Engineering, Control Systems
- Real-time software experience is an asset
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and quality principles
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Curiosity and attention to detail in reviews and audits
- Self-starter capable of working in an unstructured environment
- Technical and product knowledge (engines)
- Good written and presentation skills
- Familiarity with software configuration management and requirements management tools
- Business sense is a key competency
- Solid computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
- Occasional business travel to audit suppliers
