About the role

Senior Systems Test and Integration Engineer - Communications Systems

The successful candidate will contribute to our River-class and Fleet Destroyer project (DCFR) as a member of our integration, test and evaluation team for delivered products:

  • Develop, review and deliver shore-based tests and trials (Land Test Site/Land Test Facility) for the Integrated Communications System (ICS)
  • Develop, review and deliver shipboard tests and trials for the ICS
  • Create the integrated test, evaluation and acceptance plan, the verification traceability matrix, test plans and test procedures
  • Support the planning and execution of first article acceptance testing for the ICS
  • Act as a liaison between Lockheed Martin Canada's integration, test and evaluation team and supplier/partner organizations to maintain program priorities
  • Support problem identification and resolution to minimize schedule risk to testing
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to effectively manage and coordinate ICS build dates and build testing

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited institution in an engineering discipline plus two years' experience, or a master's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in naval or defence communications systems
  • Experience working within a multi-skilled team
  • Ability to solve difficult problems as part of a team
  • A high degree of initiative and autonomy
  • Ability to obtain a NATO Secret security clearance

Additional desired skills

  • Experience with direct communications systems
  • Experience writing tests
  • Experience with naval combat systems
  • Experience with IBM DOORS requirements management tool
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software development and testing
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Good knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Windchill is an asset
  • Valid NATO Secret security clearance is an asset

Language requirement (Quebec)

Knowledge of the English language is required for this role so the candidate can perform all duties. The role requires daily communication with a virtual team outside Quebec. The candidate will also need to communicate with various organization members, clients and suppliers located outside Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must be able to read or edit technical documents from our prime customers and produce technical documentation for those customers.
