About the role

The Naval Programs team is present at the main locations where Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. conducts projects in Canada (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth). Opportunities are available at these locations to support naval combat systems programs and proposal activities.

The successful candidate will participate as a Cyber Systems Security Engineer member of the naval development team within a multidisciplinary team environment to perform tasks such as verification and validation of requirements, support of security test activities, and analysis and resolution of issues across multiple subsystems.

The Cyber Systems Security Engineer will develop cybersecurity solutions to ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of computer systems on national and international programs. This will include creating cybersecurity architectures and other security elements for multiple computer systems, including:

  • Design and implementation of structures to counter malware and malicious intrusions into large, complex military systems
  • Information segregation (separation of classified and unclassified information)
  • System security requirements as well as security assessment and authorization
  • System ownership and access control methodologies

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or cybersecurity engineering accreditation
  • At least five years of professional experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to obtain a NATO Secret security clearance in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical engineering and management staff, as well as personnel in related roles
  • Ability to solve difficult problems within a team environment
  • A high degree of initiative and autonomy
  • Ability to adapt and perform duties in a dynamic environment

Additional desired skills

  • CISSP or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of WindChill
  • Familiarity with DOORS (Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System)
  • Strong knowledge of Cameo
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities while progressing important tasks
  • Knowledge of SysML or other object-oriented design methods
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience in the defence sector
  • Experience in software or systems architecture (virtualization, network topology, cyber-configuration, automated health monitoring, operating environment, etc.)
  • Storage technologies
  • Data or network security
  • Docker, Kubernetes or OpenStack
  • Network engineering experience

Language requirements for Quebec

Knowledge of the English language is required for this role so the candidate can perform all duties. The position requires daily communication with a virtual team outside Quebec. The candidate will also need to communicate with various members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or edit technical documents from our key clients and to write technical documents for those same clients.
