Reporting to the Associate Director of Pratt & Whitney's global network infrastructure services, the Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the company's network to ensure fast, reliable and secure digital communications. What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Work in collaboration with project teams to capture and document project requirements and propose solutions for the physical and logical network layer based on existing technologies.

  • Configure network equipment for offices and industrial networks (factories) – switches, firewalls, access points, wireless controllers, monitoring tools, etc. – using infrastructure automation tools (infrastructure as code).

  • Propose improvements to existing infrastructure and act as technical lead to modernize infrastructure with the help of internal and external partners.

  • Update network hardware and software to ensure compliance of all network equipment.

  • Coordinate and manage small network infrastructure projects.

  • Provide level 3 support to resolve complex issues.

  • Ensure alignment with corporate standards and cybersecurity compliance.

What do you need to be successful?

The candidate must have a strong knowledge of network architecture, network security, engineering and operations:

  • WLAN, LAN, WAN, DDI, VPN, proxy

  • Web hosting zone / DMZ

  • Firewalls

  • Data center network

  • Cloud networking (AWS, Azure)

  • Network segmentation – micro and macro

  • SDN, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE

  • Cisco certification

  • Physical and logical architecture diagram in Draw.io and Visio format

  • More than 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of large networks

  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills

  • Travel as needed to the North Shore and South Shore of Montreal, occasional trips to our Canadian sites

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
