The Avionics Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and validation of an aircraft’s avionics systems. They analyze requirements, manage interfaces between different systems, and ensure compliance with performance, safety, and certification requirements.
- Define and manage avionics system requirements to ensure safety, certification, and aircraft integration.
- Coordinate suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of avionics systems (communications, navigation, displays, cabin connectivity, recording, and maintenance systems).
- Support system testing, validation, and certification activities in accordance with industry standards (ARP4754, DO-178, DO-160, DO-254).
- Review and approve supplier deliverables and test results.
- Support final assembly and in-service aircraft for design-related issue resolution.
- Contribute to the development of tools, processes, and software related to avionics systems and the IMA environment.
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of avionics systems.
- Good understanding of how avionics systems integrate and interact with the overall aircraft.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems is an asset.
- Experience in the specification, design, integration, testing, and certification of avionics systems on aircraft.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, and ARP4754 is an asset.
