What your day-to-day will look like
- Develop, validate and use complex computer programs for coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Interpret inspection reports, drawings and specifications to ensure part dimensions meet requirements.
- Plan the use of precision measuring instruments to optimize dimensional inspection operations.
- Perform the mathematical calculations required for part inspections.
- Participate in quality investigations and continuous improvement activities.
- Record defects according to specifications and identify nonconforming parts.
- Prepare inspection reports.
- Perform required IT transactions to track parts.
- Maintain appropriate records related to the Quality system.
What you need to succeed
- Minimum DEC or AEC in mechanical engineering or other related field.
- Experience in metrology and CMM programming in a precision industrial environment.
- Problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
- Autonomy and expertise to program inspections for complex parts.
- Strong ability to read complex drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of MS Outlook and Office tools and CMM programming language.
- Interpersonal skills: teamwork and positive attitude.
- Commitment to continuous improvement of processes and methods.
- This role is within a francophone work environment; a basic knowledge of English is required to understand some specialized work instructions, drawings and technical terms.
