Key tasks and responsibilities:

The Parts Inspector reports to the COE Demand Planning Director. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assess the condition of unserviceable aircraft parts and classify them according to required actions.
  • Assess repair and overhaul costs for parts in quarantine.
  • Receive goods from various sources for evaluation.
  • Provide certification for all aircraft parts required for Top Aces (Alpha Jet and A4).
  • Collaborate with the Top Aces supply chain team and suppliers to ensure supplier quality assurance.
  • Support Top Aces safety programs and the quality management system.
  • Attend training to ensure maintenance of qualifications.
  • Assist with field staff training and instruction as required.
  • Ensure reference data related to certification, status and condition are maintained and accurate.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid M1 or M2 license issued by Transport Canada.
  • At least 5 years of aviation industry experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English to communicate effectively with internal and external clients in Canada and abroad.
  • Experience working with technical data in an aerospace company.
  • Experience in aircraft parts certification.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in accordance with given instructions, prescribed routines and accepted standard practices.
  • Ability to perform all tasks in alignment with our company values: excellence, service, integrity and cohesion.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to speak, listen and communicate clearly by telephone.

Working conditions: May be required to travel from time to time (15% to 20% per year).

Supervisory, training and advisory responsibilities:

  • May be required to regularly provide guidance, recommendations and training to other employees who support the function.
  • The role focuses on technical mentoring and technical advice to the parts evaluation lead.

Health and safety responsibilities:

  • Work in compliance with health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Follow safe work practices and procedures and use safety devices and personal protective equipment.
  • Immediately report hazards (such as dangerous situations and activities) to their supervisor.

Security clearance / CGP / ITAR requirements:

The position requires a Level II security clearance with the Government of Canada and the ability to access the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
