What will your day look like?

The successful candidate will be a resourceful problem-solver who leaves nothing to chance, believing that every detail matters when it comes to quality.

You will perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts to identify defects and sort parts that do not meet specifications, following work instructions.

In this role, your attention to detail and analytical mindset will be essential when you are required to:

  • Check, set up and use precision measuring instruments for dimensional inspections
  • Use basic functions and predefined programs on CMMs and other specialized equipment
  • Perform related tasks such as simple deburring, polishing, cleanliness tests and pressure/flow tests
  • Use the computer systems required for your work (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

You will actively contribute to workflow continuity, as well as the efficiency and compliance of the manufacturing environment by:

  • Ensuring that part standards and specifications are respected
  • Ordering the necessary materials to maintain continuous flow
  • Updating relevant logbooks according to multiple parameters and establishing effective operations using statistical process control
  • Performing other tasks such as cleaning, marking, protecting and packaging parts

You will also work collaboratively with colleagues to implement improvements and raise quality levels at the manufacturing center, such as:

  • Collaborating with production to correct quality issues
  • Participating in quality improvement clinics

What you need to succeed

Requirements:

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in machining techniques or a college diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or aircraft construction (aerospace engineering)
  • Two to five years of relevant experience in metrology
  • Experience working in an industrial environment
  • Excellent drawing-reading skills
  • Team player with a determined, positive attitude
  • This position is in a French-speaking workplace; however, a basic knowledge of English is required to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings and technical terms

Asset

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and SAP
