The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Flight Instructor Simulator - Type II Instructor to join our Customer Services organization based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will represent Airbus Canada in front of the customers, operators and authorities.

You will be part of the Airbus Canada Training Centre responsible for conceiving, building and delivering the best flight training and flight operations support to ensure the safe efficient and effective operation of the Airbus Aircraft.

Your challenges:

  • Conduct best possible training & checking according to his/her qualifications within Airbus Canada Training, to ensure a safe and efficient operation of Airbus A220 (BD-500) aircraft;

  • Instruct airline crews converting to Airbus A220 on all operational and technical aspects using, amongst others:

    • Fixed Base Simulators,

    • Classroom / Virtual Classroom,

    • Airbus Pilots Training Devices,

    • FSTDs

    • OTDs

    • Full Flight Simulators

  • Work on different projects on demand in the frame of Training and Flight Operations organization (TFOS);

  • Represent Airbus Canada Training and Manufacturer in front of the customer and have a proactive role, in order to identify the potential problems and find solutions to tackle them;

  • Ensure standardization, development, management tasks during his/her career within Airbus Canada;

  • Maintain and upgrade her/his competences according to his/her qualification;

  • Give stand-up lectures in order to insure airline crews capability to carry out safely and correctly all normal and emergency procedures required by Airworthiness authorities so that the crew will achieve the required level of standard proficiency;

  • Adhere to Airbus standard policy and standardization as required by Airbus Flight Training Operations;

  • Instruct the crews within the defined time limits;

  • Evaluate the crews’ progression;

  • Decide, need be, on the necessity to give any extra session to achieve the level of proficiency;

  • Participate in course development and/or in standardization instruction on demand.

Your boarding pass:

  • Hold or have held a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) License & Frozen ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) or ATPL;

  • Fluent in English;

  • Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) as Pilot;

Required flight hours experience:

  • A minimum of 3 000 hours as Pilot;

  • A minimum of 1 500 hours on Multi Pilot Aircraft (MPA);

  • Minimum of three years commercial aviation experience as pilot on FAR25 / CS 25 or FAR 23 / CS 23 aircrafts in Multi Pilot Operation (MPO), preferably on Airbus Aircraft.

Highly recommended experience:

  • Qualified (current) and experienced as Captain and Flight Instructor on BD-500 (an asset);

  • A Synthetic Flight Instructor Authorization or experience as Instructor (an asset);

  • Examiner experience (an asset);

  • Evidence base training / Competency Based Training Assessment expertise is required;

  • Project management minded;

  • Managerial experience (an asset);

  • Experience in Flight Safety (an asset);

  • Is recognised for pedagogy, perseverance, flexibility, curiosity and adaptability;

  • Available for business trips worldwide.
