Job Description

The role of the Technical Training Instructor - AMOS, reporting to the Manager, Technical Training, is to facilitate, develop and ensure compliance of technical operations personnel training and the implementation of procedures. Recognized for her/his interpersonal skills, listening ability, creativity and dynamism, the incumbent plays an essential role in knowledge transfer.

This person will be responsible for delivering regulated technical training, including training under the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and health and safety, to technical operations personnel across all operational bases. The main objective of the instructor will be the continuous evolution of AMOS-related training.

AMOS is a fully integrated software that manages airline maintenance, engineering and logistics requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update and provide required documentation for training programs, including lesson plans, exams, presentations and training manuals for:
    • Aircraft type technical training in accordance with CAR Article 566.10 / Policy Manual (PM).
    • General training on topics under CAR Articles 573.06 and 706.12 and Air Transat policy manuals.
    • All topics and improvements related to company policies and procedures (including, but not limited to: AMOS, health and safety, onboarding and welcome, and support systems).
  • Act as a resource for technical operations personnel regarding general questions.
  • Keep up to date with developments at Air Transat by collaborating and coordinating with stakeholders and reporting to the Manager, Technical Training.
  • Complete, submit and record all administrative training document requirements, including contracts, lesson plans, exams and participant attendance records.
  • Other relevant duties assigned by the Manager, Technical Training.

Qualifications

  • College Diploma (DEC) in Aeronautical Maintenance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience working with software logistics in a process-driven industry and contact with regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Team spirit, creativity and dynamism with excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership in setting goals and deadlines for ongoing projects with various departments or units.
  • Openness towards the diversity of people, thoughts and styles.
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness, initiative.
  • Bilingualism (French/English), oral and written*.
  • Assets:
    • Experience in an instructional, training or team lead role.
    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License.
    • Experience in various roles associated with aircraft maintenance processes.
    • Satisfactory experience and/or education in avionics.
    • Aircraft type qualification: A330 and/or A321.
    • Experience using aircraft-specific electronic record-keeping systems (AMOS, Trax, Quantum, Ramco, etc.).

Additional Information

*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate frequently in English, orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
