Role:

This is a continuous training level. May require supervision from more experienced technicians or technical staff to perform assembly, modification, or simple test bench validation tasks. May be required to test simple electronic assemblies, passive or active telecommunications equipment, and chamber monitoring on more complex equipment. Must demonstrate initiative and progress within well-defined routine tasks.

Responsibility/Tasks:

• Support production during equipment breakdowns to minimize operational impact.
• Perform preventive maintenance operations.
• Assist more experienced technicians or technologists.
• Execute work in accordance with internal procedures and respect health and safety at work rules.
• Perform other related tasks.

Assignment Tasks: Must be able to assist under the supervision of engineering or a more experienced technician in performing the tests below according to assignment:

Calibration:

• Basic knowledge of the discipline and some metrology experience.
• Perform calibration, modifications/repairs, and precision measurements on equipment.

Maintenance:

• Basic knowledge of the discipline and some experience in tool maintenance, devices with programmable logic controllers and containing mechanical elements.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Education: DEC or equivalent in mechanical, electromechanical, electrotechnical, electronic engineering or a related field depending on the assignment.
• Experience: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Language Proficiency Level: Comfortable in spoken and written French and English. (Contact with clients outside Quebec).

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a Level II (SECRET) security clearance and successfully pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
