The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an Engineering Business Specialist to join our Engineering team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the Transverse Engineering team, responsible for driving performance improvement, skills development, and the function's innovative and ambitious projects. The team organization is structured to promote autonomous cross-collaboration, mutual support, and collective learning.

Your role as Development Leader will be to lead the implementation of the product development process and structuration of development engineering teams for new developments and to drive the engineering cost planning practice in collaboration with the Engineering function's leadership team, transnationally, to achieve strategic objectives while optimizing the effort associated with these activities across the entire engineering department.

Your challenges

  • Lead the deployment and rigorous application of the Product Development Process (PDP) for major developments within Airbus Canada engineering, proactively synchronizing local engineering processes with Airbus global standards to ensure a unified and consistent engineering framework in a high-stakes transnational development environment;
  • Define and drive the engineering development baseline by ensuring integrated planning and costs, ensuring that all project assumptions and work scopes are documented, validated, and aligned with program objectives. Establish the synthesis and communication of these baselines to transnational engineering leadership and formulate recommendations for decision-making to executives from both engineering and program;
  • Establish and drive a standardized development costing framework in engineering in Canada and ensure transnational alignment by harmonizing practices with senior management and specialists;
  • Orchestrate essential alignment between local and international teams, ensuring that internal and external workforces are optimized in accordance with engineering strategies;
  • Act as a representative of transverse engineering, facilitating streamlined and autonomous communication channels between the Program, Manufacturing, Procurement, Service, and Chief Engineer organizations to improve the efficiency of multidisciplinary development activities;
  • Challenge the existing organization and methods to push for continuous development and optimize development;
  • Influence the management team to support the best decision-making.

Your profile

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in a product development role;
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and work organization skills;
  • Ability to rally a team around a common mission;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Emotional maturity and ability to build relationships at all levels;
  • Absolute integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
