Do you have project management experience, a background in manufacturing, and a desire to grow while developing new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program is looking for an A220 Ground Test Evolution Leader to join our Ground Test team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the Ground Test team responsible for ensuring the continuous demonstration of aircraft compliance throughout its manufacturing cycle. From creating Functional Test Procedures (FTP) to supporting execution on the assembly line, our department validates the integration of all critical systems to ensure flight safety.

The team is structured to foster autonomous, cross-functional collaboration, supporting one another and learning collectively.

In your role as A220 Ground Test Evolution Leader, you will concurrently manage multiple small- to large-scale projects:

  • Define project execution strategies: scope, content, resources, timelines, costs, risk management, quality control, communications, and training;
  • Plan activities and coordinate work among involved resources, acting as the primary interface between stakeholders, managing client expectations, and handling change requests;
  • Manage budgets and project expenditures;
  • Prepare and present progress updates to the management committee.

Your Work Environment:

The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program headquarters is located in Mirabel, within the Greater Montreal area, just steps away from the vibrant city of Montreal. Renowned for its safe and peaceful setting, the region offers an exceptional quality of life for young professionals, seasoned experts, and families alike—perfectly balancing rewarding career opportunities with outdoor lifestyle activities.

How We Take Care of You:

  • Financial Benefits: Competitive salary, annual bonus, group insurance plan, retirement plan, and employee stock purchase plan.
  • Work-Life Balance: Hybrid work policy (based on operational needs), on-site cafeteria, and a highly competitive leave policy.
  • Health & Well-being: Employee Assistance Program (EAP), discount scheme, on-site medical services, access to a public shuttle service between Laval (Montmorency metro station) and Mirabel, and a carpooling app.
  • Personal Development: Continuous growth opportunities and extensive training access (a catalog of over 10,000 self-paced e-learning courses, professional certifications, accelerated development programs, as well as national and international mobility opportunities).

At Airbus, we empower you to work, connect, and collaborate with greater flexibility. Wherever possible, we foster flexible working arrangements to drive innovation.

Your Challenges:

  • Manage industrial projects leading to product improvements and/or assembly cycle time reductions within the ground test scope;
  • Contribute to the development of the industrial strategy and manufacturing plan for both A220 Final Assembly Lines (FALs);
  • Proactively propose new operational models and organizational structures to drive the Ground Test ecosystem toward a fully optimized industrial mode;
  • Engage and maintain the commitment of key resources required for successful project completion;
  • Communicate and present effectively to secure necessary leadership support;
  • Maintain strong ties with the Airbus Ground Test Center of Competence (CoC) and act as the A220 representative within this community;
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to digitalize A220 Ground Tests;
  • Conduct benchmarks against other aerospace programs;
  • Act as a change leader;
  • Evaluate and support continuous improvement initiatives within the testing domain.

Your Boarding pass:

  • You hold an engineering or technical degree in aerospace or testing;
  • You have 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including proven experience in the testing domain;
  • You are a specialist in industrial test solutions (e.g., ESAO / GTSI);
  • You demonstrate high-level leadership, diplomacy, and resilience;
  • You possess proven skills in coaching/training, leadership, and assertiveness to influence key stakeholders and challenge the status quo;
  • You are capable of working effectively with both senior leadership and shop-floor teams while keeping them engaged;
  • You are autonomous, organized, and skilled at prioritizing tasks;
  • You have proven project management capabilities;
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English;
  • You are able to thrive in a high-pressure environment subject to frequent changes;
  • You are proactive in setting and achieving your own goals.

Due to the nature of the industry (aerospace), frequent contacts with Airbus entities worldwide, and interactions with global suppliers and customers, fluency in English is required for this position.

This role requires continuous awareness of potential compliance risks and a strong commitment to acting with integrity—values that form the foundation of our company’s success, reputation, and sustainable growth.
