What your day will look like

  • Use a variety of machining processes, analyze and improvise fixtures and methods, and perform necessary calculations and programming.
  • Calculate and program machining changes to compensate for dimensional variations of tools, gauges, parts or machine condition using computer software.
  • Set up, adjust and operate equipment such as sanders, polishers and wax/unwax tanks.
  • Perform quick-turn maintenance tasks, minor epoxy work and detail installations.
  • Interpret part drawings and dimensions.
  • Select or improvise fixtures and clamping methods according to the part to be machined.

  • Manual dexterity
  • Analytical mindset
  • This role is in a French-speaking work environment; however, a basic knowledge of English is required to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings and technical terms that may originate from international organizations.

Education

  • DEP in machining techniques
  • Mechanical engineering technician
  • Aerospace engineering technician

Experience

  • Ideally the candidate will have one to two years of experience.
