What Your Day Will Look Like
The Fuel Injector department is seeking CNC machinists. As a CNC machinist at Pratt & Whitney, you will set up, operate and adjust a wide range of numerical control machine tools — including lathes, grinders, milling machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment and laser cutting machines — to machine new parts and repair worn parts.
To do this, you will:
Work from drawings, standard work instructions, sketches and verbal directions from the supervisor or team lead
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments such as gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
You will also support quality management, equipment maintenance and material flow. In this capacity you will:
Keep logbooks up to date
Perform simple deburring
Install small fittings such as bushings and nuts
Wash, store, pack and move parts
You will demonstrate your commitment to excellence and help create a world-class manufacturing environment by:
Ensuring part standards and specifications are met
Organizing and maintaining a tidy workstation
Adhering to our high workplace health and safety standards
You will develop your skills and work closely with colleagues to improve the workplace by:
Participating in hands-on training to enhance current skills and acquire new ones
Sharing knowledge and best practices with team members
Contributing to the development of new parts or procedures for specific methods and tools
What You Need to Succeed
Requirements
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in machining techniques
ASP in machining on numerical control machine tools
DEC in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
Ability to work in a team
This position is in a French-speaking work environment; however, a basic knowledge of English is required to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings and technical terms from international organizations.
