What will your day-to-day look like?
The Turbine Department is seeking CNC machinists. As a CNC machinist at Pratt & Whitney, you will set up, operate, and adjust a wide range of computer-numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools—including lathes, grinders, milling machines, EDM machines, and laser cutting machines—to machine new parts and repair worn parts.
To do this, you will:
Work from drawings, standard work instructions, rough sketches, and verbal instructions from the supervisor or team leader
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments such as gauges and coordinate measuring machines
You will also support quality management, equipment maintenance, and material handling. To this end, you will:
Maintain logbooks
Perform simple deburring
Install small components such as bushings and nuts
Clean, organize, package, and move parts
You will demonstrate your commitment to excellence and help create a world-class manufacturing environment by:
Ensuring that part standards and specifications are met
Organizing and keeping your workstation tidy
Adhering to our high standards for occupational health and safety
You will develop your skills and work closely with your colleagues to improve the work environment:
Participate in hands-on training to improve your current skills and acquire new ones
Share your knowledge and best practices with other team members
Contribute to the development of new parts or procedures for specific methods and tools
What You Need to Succeed
Requirements
• Vocational diploma (DEP) in Machining Technology
• ASP in CNC Machine Tool Operation
• DEC in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• Ability to work in a team
• This position is in a French-speaking work environment; however, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may come from international organizations.
