What will your daily life look like?

The Transmissions and Compressors department is looking for CNC machinists. As a CNC machinist at Pratt & Whitney, you will develop, operate, and adjust a wide range of numerically controlled machine tools – including lathes, grinders, milling machines, spark machining machines, and laser cutting machines – to machine new parts and repair worn parts.

To do this, you will need to:

  • Work from drawings, standard work instructions, drafts, and verbal instructions from the supervisor or team leader

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments such as gauges and three-dimensional measuring machines

You will also need to support quality management, equipment maintenance, and material rotation. To this end, you will need to:

  • Maintain logbooks

  • Perform simple deburring

  • Install details such as bushings and nuts

  • Wash, store, pack, and move parts

You will demonstrate your commitment to excellence and help create a world-class manufacturing environment:

  • Ensure that part standards and specifications are met

  • Organize and keep your workstation tidy

  • Adhere to our high standards for occupational health and safety

You will develop your skills and work closely with your colleagues to improve the work environment:

  • Participate in practical training to improve your current skills and acquire new ones

  • Share your knowledge and best practices with other team members

  • Contribute to the development of new parts or procedures for specific methods and tools

What you need to succeed

Requirements

  • Vocational Studies Diploma (DEP) in Machining Techniques

  • ASP Machining on numerically controlled machine tools

  • DEC Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

  • Ability to work in a team

  • This position is in a French-speaking work environment; however, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may come from international organizations.
