What will your daily routine look like?

The transmissions and compressors department is looking for CNC machinists. As a CNC machinist at Pratt & Whitney, you will set up, operate, and adjust a wide variety of numerical control machine tools—including lathes, grinders, milling machines, electrical discharge machining machines, and laser cutting machines—to machine new parts and repair worn parts.

To do this, you will need to:

• Work from drawings, standard work instructions, drafts, and verbal instructions from the supervisor or team lead
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments such as gauges and coordinate measuring machines

You will also be expected to support quality management, equipment maintenance, and material flow. To this end, you will:

• Keep logs up to date
• Perform simple deburring

• Make detail installations such as bushings and nuts
• Wash, store, pack, and move parts

You will demonstrate your commitment to excellence and help create a world-class manufacturing environment:

You will develop your skills and work closely with your colleagues to improve the work environment:

What you need to succeed

Requirements

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in machining techniques
• ASP Machining on numerically controlled machine tools
• DEC in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
• Ability to work in a team
• This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, nonetheless it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations.
