About the project

The machinist is responsible for tool setup and machine operation, while ensuring the quality of parts produced. They ensure compliance with work procedures, perform inspections, and complete required documentation (PCD, PTS, maintenance). They participate in production monitoring, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and communicate work progress between shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the setup of tools and fixtures according to operation manuals;
  • Operate machines;
  • Check the good condition of the part during its assembly;
  • Ensure that all work procedures are respected (program revision vs PCD);
  • Ensure the daily maintenance sheet is completed;
  • Complete the in-progress PCD and once the task is finished;
  • Update the production list (work progress) found on the machine;
  • Inspect parts and complete the self-check sheet (PTS) attached to the PCD;
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the workstation, the machine, and the good condition of the tools and measuring instruments provided;
  • Transmit instructions and the status of ongoing work to the next shift;
  • Inform their supervisor of any anomalies or problems likely to hinder the smooth running of production;
  • Carry out their tasks in compliance with the company's vision, doctrine, and code of ethics;
  • Apply and comply with safety rules at all times;
  • Apply and comply with the rules of our policy and our quality system;

Skills and diplomas:

  • Vocational training diploma in machining techniques or equivalent
  • Professional specialization certificate in digital controls or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist in the aerospace field
  • Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written.
  • Able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and plans
  • Able to use measuring instruments
  • Able to perform simple and complex part setups
  • Understand programming codes (e.g., G code, M code, etc.).
