Job Posting: CNC Machinist

About the project

The machinist is responsible for tool setup and machine operation, while ensuring the quality of the parts produced. They ensure compliance with work procedures, perform inspections, and complete required documentation (PCD, PTS, maintenance). They participate in production monitoring, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and communicate work progress between shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure tool and fixture setup according to operations manuals;
  • Operate machines;
  • Check the good condition of the part during its setup;
  • Ensure that all work procedures are followed (review of programs vs PCD);
  • Ensure the daily maintenance log is completed;
  • Complete the PCD during work and once the task is completed;
  • Update the production list (work progress) found on the machine;
  • Inspect parts and complete the self-inspection sheet (PTS) attached to the PCD;
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the workstation, the machine, and the maintenance of tools and measuring instruments provided;
  • Transmit instructions and work-in-progress status to the next shift;
  • Inform the manager of any anomalies or problems likely to hinder smooth production operations;
  • Conduct tasks in compliance with the company's vision, doctrine, and code of ethics;
  • Apply and comply with safety rules at all times;
  • Apply and comply with the rules of our policy and quality system;

Skills and qualifications:

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies in machining techniques or equivalent
  • Attestation of Vocational Specialization in numerical controls or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist in the aerospace field
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and manufacturing blueprints
  • Ability to use measuring instruments
  • Ability to perform simple and complex part setups
  • Understand programming codes (e.g., G code, M code, etc.).
