About the Project

The machinist is responsible for tooling setup and machine operation, while ensuring the quality of the parts produced. They ensure compliance with work procedures, perform inspections, and complete the required documentation (PCD, PTS, maintenance). They participate in production monitoring, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and communicate work progress between shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure tooling and fixture setup according to operation sheets;
  • Operate the machines;
  • Check the good condition of the part during its setup;
  • Ensure that all work procedures are followed (review of programs vs PCD);
  • Ensure the daily maintenance sheet is completed;
  • Complete the PCD during work and once the task is finished;
  • Update the production list (work progress) located on the machine;
  • Inspect parts and complete the self-inspection sheet (PTS) attached to the PCD;
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the workstation, machine, and maintenance of the tools and measuring instruments provided;
  • Transmit instructions and the progress status of ongoing work to the next shift;
  • Inform their supervisor of any anomalies or problems likely to hinder smooth production operations;
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with the company's vision, doctrine, and code of ethics;
  • Apply and comply with safety rules at all times;
  • Apply and comply with the rules of our quality policy and system;

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies in machining technique or equivalent
  • Attestation of Vocational Specialization in numerical control or the equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist in the aerospace field
  • Mastery of French and English, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to use measuring instruments
  • Ability to set up simple and complex parts
  • Understand programming codes (e.g., G code, M code, etc.).
