What your daily life will look like

The fuel injector department is looking for CNC machinists. As a CNC machinist at Pratt & Whitney, you will set up, operate, and adjust a wide variety of CNC machine tools – including lathes, grinders, milling machines, electrical discharge machining machines, and laser cutting machines – to machine new parts and repair worn parts.

To do this, you will need to:

• Work from drawings, standard work guidelines, sketches, and verbal guidelines from the supervisor or team leader
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments such as jigs and coordinate measuring machines

You will also need to provide support for quality management, equipment maintenance, and material flow. To this end, you will have to:

• Keep logbooks up to date
• Perform simple deburring

What you need to succeed

Requirements

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in machining techniques
• ASP Machining on CNC machine tools
• DEC mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
• Ability to work in a team
• This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, nevertheless it requires basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations.
