Our Expectations

• Operate a set of machine tools such as conventional and CNC lathes and milling machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment, or others.
• May be called upon to develop new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
• May be called upon to participate in the development of new parts or processes for the choice of methods or tools.
• Wash, preserve, pack, and move parts while ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.

What your daily routine will look like

• Work from drawings, work methods, sketches, or verbal instructions concerning methods and equipment to use, in order to set up, operate, and adjust conventional or CNC machine tools to machine new, used, or developmental engine parts. Also, may perform corrections on used or new parts.
• Carry out setups and clamping methods according to the tooling or part to be machined. Selects tooling as needed and performs assembly and mounting of them in the machine tool.
• From computer software, calculate and program changes for machining and to compensate for dimensional variations of tools, parts, or machine condition.
• Perform first-piece trials and necessary settings, adjustments, and alignments for cutting tools, cutting parameters, etc., in order to obtain optimum performance and required dimensions.
• Perform dimensional and visual checks on parts using precision measuring instruments such as verification gauges or CMM and keep appropriate records up to date.
• Investigate the causes of repetitive problems and recommend preventive or corrective actions. Initiate and suggest improvements to work techniques and methods to prevent the repetition of anomalies.
• Work in collaboration with coworkers, planning and programming departments, maintenance group stakeholders, as well as Logistics and Quality.
• Capable of high autonomy as well as participating in training and sharing knowledge with teammates.
• Perform maintenance routines (oil levels, filter checks) to ensure the general condition and proper functioning of the machine.
• Organize and keep their workstation tidy and respect our high health and safety at work standards at all times.
• May be called upon to operate multiple closely spaced machines simultaneously.

• Aerospace engineering technique

Experience

• Ideally, the candidate will have one to two years of experience
