The aeronautical machinist is responsible for carrying out various machining operations on parts intended for the aeronautical sector, using conventional machine tools. They ensure compliance with plans, technical specifications and quality standards applicable to the aeronautical industry.
Main responsibilities:
- Read and interpret plans, technical drawings and manufacturing sheets to determine appropriate machining methods;
- Perform machining operations on conventional machines such as lathes, milling machines, drills and other workshop equipment;
- Prepare, install and adjust machines, cutting tools and holding devices necessary for manufacturing parts;
- Make the necessary adjustments to ensure the precision and conformity of machined parts;
- Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges and other control tools;
- Make necessary adjustments and corrections during production;
- Respect dimensional tolerances, technical requirements and quality standards of the aeronautical sector;
- Identify and report any non-conformity or anomaly detected during machining or inspection;
- Perform basic machine maintenance and maintain a clean and safe workstation;
- Complete production documents and ensure traceability of operations carried out;
- Comply with health and safety procedures as well as internal company standards and procedures;
- Collaborate with production, quality and methods teams to ensure the smooth running of operations.
Desired profile:
- DEP in machining or equivalent training;
- Relevant experience in conventional machining, ideally in the aeronautical sector;
- Good ability to read and interpret technical plans;
- Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments;
- Meticulousness, precision and attention to detail;
- Autonomy, resourcefulness and ability to work in a team;
- Sense of responsibility and respect for quality and safety standards.
