What your day-to-day will look like

  • Manufacture, sharpen, resharpen, repair, and modify cutting tools of all kinds using CNC machines

  • Consult drawings and sketches of cutting tools.

  • Prepare tools, dress grinding wheels manually or using a CNC machine, and perform setup.

  • Operate one or more machines simultaneously.

  • Inspect cutting tools using comparators and automated inspection machines.

  • Participate in the development of new processes.

  • Perform mathematical calculations, including using trigonometry.

  • Wash, package, identify, and move parts while ensuring compliance with standards and specifications

  • Maintain equipment and workstations in good condition.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment (oil levels, filter conditions)

  • Work as part of a team and demonstrate a high level of autonomy.

What you need to succeed

  • Holder of a DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Machining Techniques with an ASP (Attestation of Vocational Specialization) in Machining on Computer Numerically Controlled Machine Tools

  • Ability to work well in a team

  • Initiative and leadership

  • Manual dexterity

  • Analytical skills

  • This position takes place in a French-speaking work environment, however it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations.

Assets

  • Experience in the field of machining

  • Experience in cutting tool sharpening (an asset)
