Air Canada is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform receiving, shipping, warehousing and distribution functions, including operating powered equipment and vehicles for local deliveries to support Line Maintenance with materials and tooling.
In addition, the successful candidate will participate in the inspection of aircraft parts and non-aircraft equipment, tools and components to ensure they are properly certified in accordance with Transport Canada and company rules, are in acceptable condition, and meet company standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily audits, shipping, receiving, inspection, distribution, order processing and handling of out-of-service material, stocking and update the enterprise resource planning system accordingly.
- Prepare and ship parts orders to remote bases.
- Coordinate delivery for grounded aircraft, including customs clearance of parts after hours when required.
- Prepare reports on actions taken, including expired material, return of parts and tooling, or wheel rotation.
- Understand customs regulations and prepare shipping documentation.
- Handle dangerous goods shipped by air.
- Monitor and maintain inventory at appropriate levels and consult Supply Chain Canada for any requirements.
- Have a strong knowledge of dangerous goods and hold a Dangerous Goods shipper's qualification in accordance with current IATA regulations, the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, and other relevant authorities.
- Classify, mark, pack, indicate, label and document dangerous goods (after successfully completing Air Canada's "Dangerous Goods for Shippers" exam).
- Ensure compliance with Air Canada guidelines and policies at all times while working safely.
- Be able to lift up to 20 kg (45 lb).
- Take initiative while managing workload and priorities.
- Ensure maintenance standards are met in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor temperature and humidity levels in storage areas.
- Retrieve aircraft parts from Cargo or other brokers and deliver them — on or off airport property.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in aviation related to maintenance, tooling, warehousing or procurement is an asset.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Valid category B driver's license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays as required.
- Willingness to travel, often on short notice.
Conditions of employment
Candidates must be eligible to work in the relevant country at the time an offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
Language requirements
Fluency in German and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of French and other languages is an asset.
